Annual sales of commercial vehicles are expected to reach 2.75 million vehicles

In the first quarter, due to the impact of the macroeconomic environment, the commercial vehicle market, which accounts for about 30% of total vehicle sales, continues to be sluggish. The future trend of this market has also become one of the key variables in the auto market. According to the prediction of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, commercial vehicle sales this year will reach 2.75 million, an increase of 5% year-on-year. China Automobile Association believes that with the gradual implementation of the country’s 4 trillion investment, the domestic commercial vehicle market may recover in the second half of the year and is expected to achieve certain growth for the whole year.

The CLUCC believes that the commercial vehicle market will not recover in advance if the national economy does not recover significantly. The Dongfeng Motor's 2008 annual report, released recently, believes that the domestic investment of 4 trillion yuan in the commercial vehicle market in 2009 is still not blindly optimistic. Starting from July 1, 3.5 tons of download vehicles began to implement the National III emission standards, and the emission standards increased, which promoted the upgrading of China's commercial vehicles, resulting in higher production costs of commercial vehicles, the price will be greatly increased, and the profitability will be lower. The truck industry will have an impact.

The analysis report of the automotive industry of Huatai Securities believes that it is highly probable that the state will introduce support policies for the development of commercial vehicles in the second quarter. At present, the state has already issued a plan for the revitalization of the automobile industry, involving fewer commercial vehicle sub-sectors, and only car-going to the countryside involves light trucks. From the sales performance of various sub-sectors in the previous two months, commercial vehicles are even more worrying. In January-February 2009, 10,268 large and medium-sized buses were sold in China, a year-on-year decrease of 39.2%; 40,344 heavy trucks were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 48.1%.
