Early August construction machinery market development data

The machinery industry index rose 1.3%, slightly higher than the Shanghai and Shenzhen 300.

Last week, the Shanghai and Shenzhen 300 Index rose 1.0%, the machinery industry index rose 1.3%, and the increase was basically the same as the market index. Except for a slight drop in instrumentation (-0.3%) and boiler equipment (-0.7%), other sub-industries showed different degrees of increase. Among them, shipbuilding (6.0%) recorded the largest increase, lifting equipment (2.7%), machine tool equipment (+1.5%), textile and clothing machinery (1.6%), and construction machinery (+1.7%) performed slightly better than the broader market. The increase in metal products (0.7%), railway transportation equipment (+0.6%), basic parts (0.7%), and metallurgical and mining machinery (0.6%) was slightly lower.

Year-to-date, the overall machinery industry index performed slightly better than the broader market index, in which metal products, instrumentation, railway transportation equipment, boiler equipment, machine tool equipment, lifting and transport equipment and textile and garment machinery outperformed the market.
