Robot Taxi Design Contest Creates Humanized Idea
A design competition requires students to imagine - a robot taxi. The winner was a Poles named Chris Luchowiec who believed that robots should be a function of a car, rather than owning one. It is basically a driverless taxi that can be used alone, or to ride or share.
What will be the scene of vehicles driving on the street in 2030? Some imaginary ideas have completely changed the way you transport. Maybe you think they come from strong teams and huge resources. But this is not always the case. Sometimes big ideas can come from life and come from more modest purposes. Although they are not so ambitious, they are unique to them.
The original intention of this competition was to "seek to identify simple and sustainable car designs, choose the iconic icon that best suits you, and demonstrate pure driving pleasure." Chris Luchowiec's car is a driverless taxi. There are four wheels and the hut is a square box. But what really touched the jury was the communication design outside the robot vehicle: simple headlights that graphically show "mood" cars and drivers. They are round, so they look almost like eyes. The designer said that the initial plan was to make the car look more friendly and humane. He does not think that cars should be aggressive in the streets of the city, but should be "a modest assistant." The lighting color of the vehicle is also changeable. For example, it can be light yellow all night. The designer said that this will help people relax after working all day.
