Li Kunsheng, director of the Vehicle Emissions Management Division of the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, said that due to the hazy weather in the recent period, the EPA is developing various plans, one of which is to promote the sixth phase emission standard (that is, the Beijing VI emission standard). At present, there are three systems for the world's automobile emission standards: the European system, the United States system, and the Japanese system. Among them, about 70% of the world's countries have chosen the European system. For example, the Beijing V standard currently being implemented in Beijing is in line with the fifth stage emission standard in Europe.
Due to the large number of light diesel vehicles sold in the European market, the European emission standards have always been a relaxed attitude towards light diesel vehicles. For example, in the fifth stage emission standard of Europe, the nitrogen oxide emission standard of light diesel vehicles can be three times that of light gasoline vehicles. . In Europe's sixth-stage emission standards, the emission limits of light-duty gasoline vehicles have not changed, but the emission limits of light-duty diesel vehicles have been increased. In the nitrogen oxide emissions, the limit for light-duty gasoline vehicles is 60 milligrams. The light diesel vehicle is 80 milligrams. In the United States, the use rate of about 20% of the US automobile exhaust emission standards, the sixth phase of its emission standards, the limits of light diesel vehicles and light gasoline vehicles is also strict.
Li Kunsheng introduced that the sixth phase of Beijing's use of European or American standards is being studied. If the US standard system is used, it will also face problems such as monitoring equipment development, supervision and inspection. However, from a worldwide perspective, South Korea's Seoul, Hong Kong and Taiwan regions, and some South American countries have all used the US's emission standard system, even more stringent than the US standard. In the U.S. market, due to the consistent emission standards for light-duty diesel vehicles and light-duty gasoline vehicles, the standard vehicles equipped with diesel engines will cost between 3,000 and 4,000 US dollars more expensive than gasoline vehicles, which also makes the US market with lighter diesel vehicle sales. It is understood that if Beijing implements the sixth phase emission standards in 2016, and requires light diesel vehicles and light gasoline vehicles to meet the same emission standards, it also means that light diesel vehicles will have the opportunity to achieve sales in Beijing.
According to Li Kunsheng, in addition to the Beijing V-car, in Beijing, the current car ownership of 5.2 million vehicles, the country's III (including) the following standard green car has nearly 2 million vehicles, there are 20,000 or so yellow label car.
