American researchers create jumpable robots
The Robot RHex project at the University of Pennsylvania began about 15 years ago when researchers at several universities began to demand how robots could travel across rugged terrain and behave like animals.
Unlike wheeled, legged robots, they have animal-like capabilities to overcome obstacles such as stairs and reefs. But until the latest RHex, Aaron Johnson and Ph.D. student of development engineering professor Daniel Kodtschek, leg-robots cannot negotiate the gap in terrain over robots with wheels.
Johnson has developed mechanisms to allow robots to jump past gaps and loopholes that it had previously plunged into. The tall convex usually blocks the path of the robot, and RHex can handle more than four times its own height on the platform.
Koditschek and Johnson designed the latest version of RHex using lightweight carbon fiber. This allows it to perform its functions without consuming much power for jumping and climbing.
Electronic products are related products based on electric energy, mainly including: watches, smart phones, telephones, televisions, video disc players (VCD, SVCD, DVD), video recorders, camcorders, radios, radio recorders, combined speakers, and CD players (CD), computers, game consoles, mobile communication products, etc. Because the early products were mainly based on electronic tubes, they were named electronic products. Avoid hasty and rough operation when using it. And handle with care to avoid collision.
