90% of domestic sensor chips are imported
Zhang Xiaofei, director of the China Sensing Industry Research Center, recently stated at the 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Application Summit that as a basic unit of the Internet of Things, 90% of domestic sensor chips are currently imported. The situation in the next few years, mainly relying on imports, cannot be reversed, but domestic chip occupancy can reach 30% after three years.
Zhang Xiaofei said that at present there is a lack of Internet of Things leading enterprises. As of the end of July this year, domestic listed companies and the Internet of Things related to about 30, but only business-related, associated business income is only the highest 170 million yuan, accounting for only a small part of the turnover.
According to the GSII market survey, 80% of the world's leading sensor manufacturers have entered the Chinese market. In 2009, the global sensor market capacity was about 53 billion U.S. dollars, and it is estimated that the world's sensor market can reach more than 66 billion U.S. dollars in 2010.
The GSII believes that since 2009, the main drivers for the growth in demand for the Chinese sensor market will come from industrial electronics, automotive electronics, communications electronics, consumer electronics and specialized electronic devices. Industrial electronic equipment and automotive electronics are the fastest-growing industries in China's electronic information industry, and are also the areas with the most application of sensors. The application of sensors to the sensors accounts for about 1/3 of the entire sensor market. GSII expects that in 2010 China's automotive sensors Market sales will exceed $1.5 billion.
In recent years, the Chinese auto industry has continued to grow at a high speed. In 2009, the Chinese auto market has developed rapidly, with annual production and sales of 13.64 million vehicles. The China Passenger Vehicle Federation predicts that production and sales will reach 17 million in 2010, maintaining a 21% growth rate. At present, an ordinary car has installed more than 100 sensors and even more than 200 luxury car sensors.
