Steel valve seal overview

In order to achieve zero leakage inside and outside the valve seal, save energy, protect the environment and improve work efficiency, the valve must have a reliable sealing performance. The sealing part of the valve mainly includes the contact between the opening and closing part and the sealing surface of the valve seat, the contact part of the valve stem and the valve cover, the sealing part of the valve stem, and the gasket contact part between the valve body and the valve cover. Among them, the leakage between the opening and closing parts and the sealing surface of the valve seat is called the inner leakage of the valve, and the leakage between the valve stem and the valve cover, the stem seal and the sealing surface of the valve body and the valve cover is called the leakage of the valve.

The internal leakage of the valve will affect the ability of the valve to shut off the medium. Leakage of the valve can cause loss of the transmission medium or pollute the environment. In severe cases, it can cause major accidents. For flammable, explosive, toxic or radioactive media, leakage of the valve is not allowed.

Sealing performance of the valve seal is an important technical indicator to measure the quality of the valve. The national standard has formulated relevant regulations for the technical requirements for sealing on steel gate valve and steel globe valve. Sealing effect of seals on steel gate valves and globe valves is related to the valve material, processing equipment, tooling manufacturing, heat treatment, processing technology, shape tolerances, and part machining accuracy. A certain technology cannot meet design requirements. It will directly affect the effect of the seal.

According to the relevant standards, the valve seal should have a conical or spherical seal structure. However, the conical or spherical seal structure has certain disadvantages relative to the planar seal structure, such as the friction phenomenon on the sealing surface, difficulty in maintenance, high processing difficulty, and increased production costs. As a result, production costs have risen and products have become less competitive. At the same time, the sealing performance of the valve is also difficult to meet the standard technical requirements, and often the seal will fail after several sealing performance tests.

Organic Salt

Organic salts are organic acids, or salts formed by the reaction of organic bases with other acids and bases , which can be organic or inorganic. Such as sodium acetate (Organic Acid, Inorganic Alkali salt), tetrabutylammonium bromide (Inorganic Acid, organic base), pyridine acetate salt (organic acid, organic base), methyl sodium (alkyl salt), sodium ethanol (strong base).

Inorganic salts are salts produced by the neutralization reaction of inorganic acids and alkalis, which are called inorganic salts. Inorganic salts refer to salts that do not contain carbon elements, and organic salts refer to salts that contain carbon elements, but do not include carbonates. Organic salts are salts produced by the neutralization reaction of organic acids and alkalis, which are called organic salts. The biggest difference between inorganic and organic salts is the difference in the acids that make up them. For example, inorganic salts generally have strong hydrophilicity, while organic salts have affinity with some non-polar reagents.
