Qingdao factory project is bidding on the stamping dies of Bora BEV (Baolai pure electric), which indicates that the new car will be expected to be put into production at the Qingdao plant to be built soon. According to the announcement of the successful bid announcement, the tender is only for the Bora vehicle front floor stamping die. It is expected that the appearance of the Bora BEV will be no different from the previous exposure of the new Bora, and only the front floor of the vehicle will be adjusted.
Although the official announcement of the new Polaris model was not revealed, the new model was relatively slender, and the new car was similar to the new version of the Jetta model overseas. The Bora BEV of this FAW-VW plant in Qingdao Electric products will also be built together with fuel vehicles using the MQB platform.
According to previous understanding, the FAW-Volkswagen (Qingdao) East China Production Base was officially started construction in July 2015. The first phase of the project will invest approximately RMB 10 billion, and it will form 300,000 units/year of production capacity in the future. It will be used for the production of SUVs and a new sedan. At present, the first phase of civil works for the first phase of the plant was basically completed, and the installation and commissioning of the equipments for the four workshops of stamping, welding, painting, and assembly were completed. It has already entered the trial production phase and is expected to be completed and put into operation in March 2018.
