Sales decline Cummins global implementation of the recruitment freeze plan

Cummins Inc. recently announced that it will implement a recruitment freeze plan globally and last for at least until the end of this year.

Due to the recent decline in sales in markets such as North America, China, and Brazil, Cummins Inc. recently announced that it has implemented a global recruitment freeze plan for at least the end of this year.

Cummins announced in April this year that it will invest US$219 million in its Seymour plant to produce a new high-speed diesel engine and said it will add 290 jobs in the next few years. However, company spokesperson Jon Mills said he was “not able to discuss” how this recruitment freeze plan will affect the factory.

Cummins’s sales have increased significantly in recent years, with its profit growth up to 80% in 2011. The company currently has 46,200 employees worldwide and employs only 7,800 people in Indiana. However, due to the reduced demand for diesel engines in the international market, Cummins’ net profit fell by 7.1% year-on-year in the second quarter of this year.
