Inner Wuhai 12500 kVA below the internal combustion type calcium carbide furnace will be eliminated

Recently learned from the Environmental Protection Bureau of Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia, that in order to promote the technical upgrading of the calcium carbide industry and the adjustment of industrial structure, before the end of this year, the city will eliminate all the internal-fired type calcium carbide furnaces with a single furnace capacity below 12,500 kVA; To comprehensively improve the overall technical equipment level of the calcium carbide industry, realize the integrated construction of calcium carbide and polychloroethylene upstream and downstream, and further promote the upgrading of the calcium carbide industry.
It is understood that the initial total capacity of newly-built calcium carbide furnaces in Wuhai this year must reach 126,000 kVA and above, and that new calcium carbide production plants must use closed-type calcium carbide furnaces, and calcium carbide furnace gas must be comprehensively utilized. In order to reduce energy consumption, improve the comprehensive utilization of resources, and protect the environment, furnace gas and lime must be comprehensively used in closed calcium carbide installations. It is not allowed to disperse in normal production. The fugitive emissions of dust-laden gas generated during the process of crushing, storing, and transporting raw materials and products need to be collected in a centralized manner to meet the discharge standards after dust removal.
In order to improve the comprehensive competitiveness of calcium carbide production enterprises, the city requires new and existing transformation of calcium carbide projects must be in line with the industrial economic development plan, in the industrial park unified planning and construction of a regional calcium carbide industrial production area, in order to facilitate the "three wastes" centralized management.
