Industrial Ethernet switch common faults and handling

There are several common types of industrial-grade switch failures. Let's take a look!

The fiber port of the switch is broken (ST port or SC port): Generally, the optical port is broken when the switch is inadvertently stepped in during the debugging process, and occasionally it is found to be broken during the transportation process.

There is no response after the Ethernet port of the switch is connected to the device (the LED is not lit): Please confirm whether the connected device is powered. If it is a fiber port, please confirm whether the two optical ports are matched (100M/1000M, single mode/multimode) ), whether the fiber is good, whether the fiber matches the optical port (single mode/multimode), and whether the fiber is cross-connected. If you cannot solve the problem after eliminating the above reasons, please contact technical support.

Unstable communication between devices (twisted pair ports are more common): Check if the rate and duplex mode of the twisted pair port of the device and the switch match. At present, the twisted pair ports of the new device support adaptive mode (100M full duplex), but the twisted pair ports of some older devices may be 10M half duplex, 100M half duplex or 100M full duplex. In this case, change the working mode of the corresponding port of the switch to be the same as the device.

After the switch Ethernet port is connected to the device, the LED light is normal, but it cannot communicate with other devices: Please check the switch's VLAN settings.

No response after the switch is powered on: Please check if the input voltage matches the rated working voltage of the switch and the wiring is correct.
