FIA and Pirelli reach new four-year contract
Pirelli signs FIA A major objective of this action is to support the United Nations’ 10-year road safety action for 2011-2020. It aims to educate and deeply understand the importance of road users' respect for road traffic regulations. According to the International Health Organization, today, traffic accidents have become the biggest culprit in the 15-29-year-old population worldwide.
As a global partner of the sport, Pirelli will promote the FIA's “Top Ten Golden Rules†on road safety in its global business network. Pirelli will also join forces with the FIA's member clubs to organize relevant training programs and related courses to enhance safe driving awareness.
At the 2016 FIA Sport Conference in Turin this week, Pirelli CEO Tron Katie said: “Safety has always been one of Pirelli's primary goals. It maximizes the presentation of high technology and performance, ensuring overall enjoyment. At the same time as driving experience, our tires have always been able to achieve the highest level of safety, both for people and for the environment."
The President of the FIA, Jean Todt, said: “We are very pleased to reach an agreement with Pirelli to support the FIA's road safety operations. Working with our member clubs, this partnership will contribute to the better dissemination of road safety behaviour and Respect for the importance of other road users and the public"
