Government support is the driving force behind LED development Since the birth of the world's first semiconductor light-emitting diode in the 1960s, LED lighting has been hailed as the third revolution in human lighting due to its long life, energy saving, rich color, safety and environmental protection. Countries around the world are accelerating the pace of LED lighting to replace traditional lighting. The Ministry of Science and Technology of China launched the semiconductor lighting project in 2003 to solve the key industrialization technologies that were urgently needed in the special lighting market at that time, making this emerging industry a big step forward.
In the following ten years, the 11th Five-Year National 863 Program Semiconductor Lighting Project and the Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Demonstration Projects were launched; the National Development and Reform Commission and other six ministries jointly issued the "Semiconductor Lighting Energy Conservation Industry Opinions" and "Semiconductor Lighting Energy Conservation Industry Planning". The development goals, main tasks, key projects and supporting measures of China's LED industry are clearly stated.
Cao Jianlin pointed out that the central and local governments have made the large-scale application of semiconductor lighting products in China at the forefront through policy support, subsidies, and demonstration projects.
Wu Ling said that in the past ten years, the government has continuously promoted the joint efforts of various ministries and commissions to create a good atmosphere for industrial development; to guide technology development with application requirements, to promote market cultivation through the application of demonstration projects, and to promote large-scale industrialization of technology; The subsidy of the end, expanding the scope of application, has made great progress in the technology and industry of LED in China.
At present, the scale of China's semiconductor lighting industry has increased from 9 billion yuan in 2003 to 250 billion yuan now, and 19 listed companies; the light efficiency of semiconductor products has increased from 20 lm/w to 140 lm/w now, and the localization rate of chips Reached 75.
Industry challenges still exist After ten years of development, China's LED industry has entered a fast lane of development. However, prosperity and crisis are always lurking in parallel. At present, this emerging industry is still facing great challenges.
Participants believed that with the acceleration of the penetration rate of the LED market, many companies will shift their focus to the traditional lighting channels, and even compete for the market with low prices, making the product homogenization competition very serious. Some companies use cheaper materials to make cheaper lamps, shoddy. In the absence of any technical testing, some enterprises rushed to follow the trend and formed overcapacity. The industry has experienced overheating in different stages of development and different development stages. The first two years were chips, and the two years were in the application field.
In addition, from a technical point of view, there are some technical support problems that have not been resolved, such as specifications, interfaces, etc.; enterprises have insufficient understanding of the future development trend of end products, and do not know how to quickly keep up with the development of information and digitalization.
Wu Ling said that because of the controllability of LEDs, people can not only change the illuminants but also achieve higher levels of lighting effects with certain technical means. This feature makes LED lighting provide us with unlimited imagination, and its development speed is beyond people's imagination. In the future, under the guidance of information technology such as the Internet of Things, microelectronics optoelectronic integration will open an intelligent, controllable, and digital lighting era, and the value of system services will increase.
