The reporter was informed that a few days ago, Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission (Pan-Pearl Office) organized the Provincial Communications Department, Customs, Guangzhou Railway Group, and China Merchants International Co., Ltd. to head the delegation of 14 people to carry out cooperation and build a preliminary study of inland dry ports.

"In 2012, the total freight volume in the city will exceed 1 billion tons, an increase of 17% over the same period of last year. At present, the state-level logistics hub of 'Three Bases and Four Ports' in our city has taken shape and has the advantage of large-scale development." Inland importers and exporters can complete the booking, customs declaration, inspection and other procedures in the local area and deliver the goods to the freight forwarder or shipping company.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Logistics Association stated that at present, the export of corporate goods generally requires two declarations and two inspections before it can be released. Through the "waterless port", the company can save more than 30% of logistics costs.
