Failure Analysis of Vortex Flowmeters in Metering Integrated Water Flow

The so-called integrated water is also a combination of various kinds of water, such as: circulating water, domestic water, water supply, etc., due to improper operation in practical applications, the instability of the vortex flowmeter can easily occur.

Below we will make a rough summary of customer feedback questions, for reference only!

1. When the vortex flowmeter is energized, the sensor has no signal output.

Analysis: 1), there is no medium flow in the pipeline, or the medium does not flow;

2) The power supply of the meter is insufficient.

Solution: 1) Adjust the valve to make the pipeline flow;

2) Check whether the instrument wiring is normal or not and maintain normal power supply.

2. There is no flow in the pipeline, but the sensor has a signal output.

Analysis: 1), there is electromagnetic interference, the grounding is wrong;

2) The pipeline vibration is large;

3), the gain of the sensor is large;

Solution: 1) Let the staff check the grounding resistance to ensure that it is not higher than 10Ω, otherwise it will be grounded again;

2), the bracket reinforcement of the pipeline;

3) Adjust the gain of the sensor to an appropriate value.

3. Everything works normally, but the sensor output frequency is at 50Hz.

Analysis: The installation environment of the vortex flowmeter has high-power electromechanical equipment or interference from strong electromagnetic fields.

Solution: Strengthen the shielding of the electromagnetic field, and the pulse signal of the Chiang meter is changed to the standard current signal.

4. When the meter works normally at high flow rate, the signal flow is unstable in small flow.

Analysis: 1), the minimum flow reaches the lower limit of the flow of the meter;

2), the gain of the sensor is small;

Solution: 1) Re-selection to purchase the flowmeter or reduce the diameter of the pipeline;

2) Adjust the gain of the sensor to an appropriate value.

5, the instrument works normally, but the sensor output signal is unstable

Analysis: 1), use the oscilloscope to check whether it is pulse or multi-pulse signal, the pulse shows that the gain is small, and the multi-pulse indicates that the gain is large;

2) The vortex flowmeter is not installed correctly ;

Solution: 1) Adjust the gain of the sensor to a suitable value;

2), install correctly according to the distance requirements of the straight pipe before and after the meter

6. When the flow is adjusted, the opening of the flow is inversely proportional to the valve.

Analysis: The regulating valve is installed in front of the vortex flowmeter, and the jet phenomenon occurs at a small flow rate.

Solution: Adjust the installation position of the regulating valve, and the regulating valve is installed behind the meter.

7. When there is flow in the pipeline, the sensor does not have signal output.

Analysis: 1), the connection between the terminal and the sensor is broken.

2), instrumentation amplifier is damaged

Solution: 1) Reconnect the broken line;

2) Replace the instrumentation amplifier.
