Cooper tires net profit of 140 million US dollars in 2010

In the fourth quarter of 2010, US auto parts supplier Cooper tires revenue reached US$920 million, a 19% increase over the same period of 2009 revenue of US$770 million; gross profit reached US$110 million (margin rate of 12.2%), compared to 2009 During the same period, gross profit of 130 million U.S. dollars (16.5%) declined.

In 2010, Cooper tire revenue reached US$3.36 billion, up 20.9% from 2009 revenue of US$2.78 billion; gross profit reached US$420 million (12.5%), slightly higher than 2009 gross profit of US$419 million (15.1%).

In the fourth quarter of 2010, Cooper Tire had a net profit of US$40.2 million, which was higher than the net profit of US$39.2 million in the same period of 2009. In 2010, Cooper Tire had a net profit of 140 million U.S. dollars, compared with a net profit of 51.8 million U.S. dollars in 2009.

From the fourth quarter of 2010 to the first quarter of 2011, the chain's raw material price rose by 15% to 20%. Despite facing the pressure of rising raw material prices, Cooper tires are expected to continue to improve in 2011.
