In particular, the self-developed ultra-high-strength high-modulus polyethylene fiber, carbon fiber, polypropylene terephthalate (PTT) fiber, aramid 1313, and high-performance ultra-fine fiber have played an important role in aerospace, military, and specialty applications. . However, the development of chemical fiber raw materials lags behind. In 2005, the import proportion of China's chemical fiber raw materials exceeded 60% on average, of which the import dependency of terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG), the main raw materials of terylene, was as high as 56.4% and 78%, respectively. The raw materials for the production of caprolactam (CPL) and acrylic raw materials, acrylonitrile (AN), depended on imports as high as 66% and 31%, respectively.
According to relevant persons from the National Development and Reform Commission, in the next five years, China will speed up the approval of plans for the construction of chemical fiber raw materials, encourage private capital to enter, and gradually increase the self-sufficiency rate of important chemical fiber raw materials such as terephthalic acid, paraxylene, and ethylene glycol. Enhance the convergence of the chemical fiber industry chain and promote the development of China's polyester and polyester industries.
In addition, China will actively develop high-quality, super-large, precision, and short-range new-generation domestic polyester polyester complete sets of technical equipment, develop nylon large-scale polymerization technology, accelerate the development of multifunctional and differentiated fiber varieties, and strengthen chemical fiber enterprises.
