Bosch and China United Automotive Electronics Plan to Integrate Body Electronics Business in China

Bosch Group and China United Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. will expand their cooperation in the field of body electronics. The two parties reached an agreement to expand this business area in the existing joint venture of the two companies, United Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. The main business areas of United Electronics are electronic systems and gasoline engine management components.

In the near future, United Electronics will also develop, manufacture and sell body electronic products in the Chinese market. Joint Automotive Electronics will also plan to expand its product line, including body computers, anti-theft devices, electronic door locks, door controllers, and comfortable and convenient controllers. The cooperation agreement will take effect after signed by both parties. Both sides agreed not to disclose the specific details of the contract. The approval of this cooperation still requires the approval of the relevant departments.

After the signing of the contract, United Automotive Electronics will also take over the body electronics business under the current Bosch China Automotive Electronics Business Unit and China Unitedâ€™s Lianchuang Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd. After consulting existing customers, some production machines and licenses, contracts and customer agreements will be gradually transferred to United Automotive Electronics. The transfer process will be completed in 2015. Through closer cooperation with joint venture companies, Bosch will strengthen its relationship with customers, develop localized solutions that are more suitable for the Chinese market, and provide customers with better services.

At present, about 100 employees will be working on the body electronics at United Electronic Shanghai headquarters. United Automotive Electronics currently employs about 3,500 employees in three cities in China. The company mainly produces engine controllers, sensors, fuel injectors, and oil pumps for gasoline engine management systems.
