What is PET Bottle washing Recycling Machine used for?

1. PET Bottle Washing Recycling Machine takes dirty PET bottles as its input and outputs clean PET flakes.

Introduction of process:
The PET Bottle Washing Line is able to separate labels with the label remover machine. Afterwards the grinder turns the bottles into flakes.

The hot washer removes earth and sand, and to insure all unwanted materials are removed, the PET bottle flakes will be washed by the friction washer and washing tank. Finally, the dewater machine and dryer will dry and deliver clean PET flakes.


Generally speaking, the PET bottles washing recycling process is carried out in four steps:

Step 1: Debaling and coarse separating
1.Debaler: As PET bottles often come in bales which can be composed of different materials such as bottles or post-consumer plastic waste, a debaler breaks down the pressed bales into single bottles to allow for mechanical or automatic separation and classification of unwanted material.  


2.Trommel: It is a slowing rotating tunnel lined with small holes. The holes are slightly smaller than PET bottles, therefore, small pieces of foreign body such as glass, metals, rocks/dirt etc will fall through while the PET bottles move onto the next piece of machinery.

3.Label separator: By the friction between screen and arms, labels, papers, and plastic film attached to bottles would be removed and separated to a collection container. 

Step 2:Size reducing and washing
1. Wet grinder: Bottles are cut into small pieces or flakes by wet grinder. Wet granulation also provides an added benefit of protecting the material and works to avoid any screen blockage during the cutting process.


2.Cold water washing machine: High-speed friction washer: An efficient piece of cold water washing equipment, with high speed of rotation and strong friction friction, any hard dirt and debris which are hard to remove from the PET flakes will be separated from PET bottles efficiently.

3.Sink-float washing and separating tank: By different density and using water as a medium, materials that float on the surface of water are separated from PET flakes that sink at the bottom of washing tank. At the same time, this sink-float tank has function of cleaning rinsing, the clean flakes are rinsed in water in order to obtain a neutral pH value after washed in hot water with cleaning chemicals.

4.Hot water washing machine: The flakes are thoroughly washed in hot water in order to dissolve glue and oil which are hard to remove in cold wash process. Additional chemicals like caustic soda and detergents are added to hot water for better result.  

Step 3:Drying and treatment of flakes
1.High speed of dewatering machine: Based on centrifugal principle, the dewatering machine with high speed of rotating force to remove the water from the PET flakes to reach required moisture. 


2.Thermal drying: A thermal dryer can be added after the dewatering machine in order to reduce any residual moisture on the material surfaces to achieve higher requirement.

3. Air separation: Remaining film, plastic dust and papers are separated from the flakes by zig-zag sifer.

Step 4:Waste water treatment  
The dirty water is collected in a pit and any contamination larger than appr. 0.1 mm is removed. The screened water is stored in a sedimentation basin for the sedimentation of light contamination; the result is circulation water. A pump conveys the circulation water back into the plant.
