HIS Says China Gradually Loses Monopoly
Dow Jones Newswires November 23 news, HIS Global Insight (Global Insight) a survey report said that China is gradually losing its monopoly of rare earth. By 2016, the production of rare earths in China will fall to 50% of world production. Then fell to between 30% and 40%. The main reason is that progress will be made in the research and development of alternative materials, new exploration outside China, and recycling of rare earth resources.
At present, there are more than 350 rare earth mining projects outside China and India. They are distributed in 35 countries and involve more than 200 mining companies. It is expected that in 2016 and 2017, the rare earth market will have a full-scale oversupply situation. The supply of germanium and germanium will be greater than demand in 2013.
