Control effect of pesticide residues in vegetables in Chengdu

Pesticide residue is an important factor affecting the quality of vegetables. In order to enable citizens to enjoy pollution-free vegetables, Chengdu has increased the supervision and management of pesticide residues in vegetables since 2007, in major wholesale farmers markets, supermarkets, vegetable vendors, The vegetable market and other places use pesticide residue detectors to conduct a comprehensive test on vegetables and strive to eliminate pesticide residues at the source. Today we talk about the effectiveness of pesticide residues in vegetables in Chengdu.

Compared with 2007, the test results of 2009 have significantly improved the passing rate of vegetables. In 2009, the number of samples was more, and the scope of pesticide detection was also based on 2007. There were 5 more pesticides on the basis of 2007, therefore, the pesticide residues in 2009. The test results of the detector are more representative. There are mainly three reasons for the improvement of the overall quality of vegetables in Chengdu:

1. The effective operation of monitoring networks at all levels in Chengdu. Through years of efforts, Chengdu has established a network of self-inspection inspections at the municipal, district, and street level, and each inspection team performs its duties, effectively monitoring the quality of vegetables.

2. The increase of pollution-free vegetable enterprises in Chengdu. With the support of the Chengdu Municipal Government, Chengdu’s vegetable production enterprises have established approximately 125,000 hm2 of pollution-free vegetable production bases inside and outside the city. The pollution-free vegetables produced by these regulated bases are continuously being shipped back to the Chengdu market. The occupancy rate is gradually increasing, and the overall quality of vegetables in Chengdu has been improved;

3. Media intervention and enforcement. Every month, the results of vegetable testing in Chengdu are announced to the public through the media. For companies that have repeatedly failed to rectify excessive pesticides, they are punished according to relevant laws.

These measures have greatly improved the company's self-discipline, and played a very good role in promoting the quality of vegetables.

The level of quality of vegetables in 2009 has increased to some extent, and the use of high-toxic pesticides such as methamidophos and monocrotophos has declined significantly. However, there are also some problems. Although the detection rate of highly toxic pesticides has fallen by more than half, it still accounts for pesticides. With 28.03% of the total detected, the detection rate and exceeding rate of non- banned pesticides, especially chlorpyrifos and cyhalothrin, have increased significantly. In response to these problems, we should take appropriate measures. From the test results in 2009, the detection of highly toxic pesticides such as methamidophos, parathion, methyl parathion, and monocrotophos was significantly reduced, indicating the Ministry of Agriculture's announcement No. 322 (ie from January 2009). From the 1st, the prohibition on the production, sale, and use of 5 kinds of highly toxic pesticides such as methamidophos, monocrotophos, parathion, methyl parathion, and phosphine has played an important role, and it has provided strong incentives to reduce the use of banned pesticides. Strong legal protection. At the same time continue to increase the inspection of agricultural inputs, eliminate these 5 kinds of highly toxic pesticides and pesticides mixed with 5 kinds of highly toxic pesticides.

Secondly, increase the promotion of agricultural technology promotion and train farmers to use pesticides rationally. Non- banned pesticides often have limited changes in their standards. For pesticides with large changes in limit standards, such as chlorpyrifos, the limit standard has changed from the original 1 mg/kg to the current 0.1 mg/kg, and the agro-technical extension department should increase its propaganda and guidance. The farmers used drugs rationally, changed the traditional pesticide use patterns, and reduced the non-banned pesticides caused by the violation.
