China Wind Power Enters the World's First Offshore Wind Turbine

Vice-president of China Wind Power Group Co., Ltd. Yu Weizhou said in an interview yesterday (October 14) that the group will formally enter China's offshore wind power project next year. The first project will invest 400 million yuan and settle in Hai'an County, Nantong, Jiangsu Province. This year, the group will also invest 5 billion yuan, and the newly installed capacity will exceed 650,000 kilowatts, which is an increase of more than 60% over the same period last year.

Yu Weizhou said that by the end of next year, the Group will build a 50 MW wind farm in Hai'an County, Nantong, Jiangsu Province. The investment is expected to be around 400 million yuan. Preliminary work has been approved by the local Development and Reform Commission and is subject to final approval.

Regarding the new installed capacity of the group this year, Yu Weizhou said that mainly in the northeast, Inner Mongolia and Gansu, the newly installed capacity will be able to be connected to the grid this year. By the end of this year, the total installed capacity will reach 1 million kilowatts. The next step will be to consider coastal layout.

According to the group's mid-year report, in the first half of the year, the Group increased its investment in wind power projects, and 6 new wind farms (totaling 297 MW) were started. As a result, a total of 10 wind farms (total 647 MW) were at the end of the period. Construction phase. So far, the Group has invested in the construction of 22 wind farms with a total installed capacity of 1,213 MW, of which the Group's equity installed capacity is 681 MW. The total installed capacity of the 12 wind farms that have been completed and put into production amounts to 566 MW.

At present, the construction of the seven “10 million kilowatt-class” wind power bases in the country is progressing rapidly. From the deserts of Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang to the coastal and offshore areas of Jiangsu, a total of 24 provinces and autonomous regions have established their own wind farms. This year, Shanghai Donghai Bridge offshore wind farm was put into operation, becoming the first offshore wind farm outside Europe to date.

At the same time, China's wind power manufacturing industry has also won the top spot in the world. Last year, the total output of wind turbines accounted for one third of the world's total. Domestic brands have grabbed more than 85% of the domestic wind power market and started to export overseas. Li Junfeng, deputy director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, believes that access to the Internet has become the biggest obstacle to the development of domestic wind power, and the introduction of specific standards for wind power standards and guaranteed acquisitions is required.
